This patient was referred to our office for a cosmetic dentistry evaluation from an Oral Surgeon. She wanted to eliminate her “gummy smile” . Every treatment option was explored (plastic surgery, orthodontics, oral surgery, etc) with the patient via consultations with other specialist. The final decision was to seek a cosmetic dentistry solution utilizing gum and bone sculpting to remove the excessive tissue and build out new porcelain restorations that create a better shape for her face. This option was actually the least invasive of any other option. 10 ultra-thin porcelain veneers, laser bone and gum sculpting along with Zoom2 in-office whitening. Her gummy smile was completely eliminated without the need for invasive oral surgery or years in braces. Total treatment time was 4 weeks.
